A Soloist For All Occasions...

Welcome.

Alison Sams was born in London and from an early age showed musical prowess on both the trumpet and the flute.  She went on to study Performing Arts, obtaining a Batchelor of Arts degree at Nottingham University before moving back to London to begin her career as a professional musician.
In 1995 she became the leader and flute player of The Windwood trio, an all-female ensemble consisting of flute, oboe and clarinet.

Alison then went onto study her second degree, a BA in Jazz at Middlesex University, studying  composition and improvisation with Nikki Iles and Chris Batchelor.  At this time she created the brook trio, comprising flute, violin and cello.

As a trumpet player she works regularly on the gigging circuit with function, soul and big bands and in various pop music settings and tv shows including Top of the Pops.

Alison has worked with many great musicians and this year collaborated with some of them to create her 8-piece band Rhymes with Orange,  a vibrant and energetic party band playing a wide variety of pop classics through to recent chart hits.

Alison also plays solo flute as well as duos with violin or oboe.
